Not in the least bit surprised. What did you expect? And as for "costs are under control and we will be on budget", if this government or Red Ken were to say "The sky is above your head and the sun rises in the East", I would double check with someone else before accepting it.

I ain't surprised at all. I don't know anything that has been built within budget or on time in this Country. Look at the Dome, ha ha. What a complete and utter failure. Why should the govt worry, they're spending other people's money and there's plenty more where that came from.

I saw Sebastian Coe on the telly this morning.
It appears the cost is now estimated to be over 300% more than was originally thought.
This is blamed on the extra cost of security etc.
What a load of bollocks, anybody, and I mean anybody in this Country could have told them the costs would treble.
It"s not rocket science - this is England.
