Put them into your washing machine, add a small amount of Tide or any other detergent you use along with two large cups of vinegar and put it on soak mode for a couple of hours and then wash on gentle cycle. Should do the trick. I've done it with my liners but they've never had mildew or such bad scum on them. Good luck!
Oh by the way, one more thing...do you really want to save those liners? Why don't you chuck them out and get new liners and make sure you don't let it build up to that point again. :-)

You could put it into the washer on the gentle cycle or spray some disinfectant like Clorox on it and let it sit for a few mins then scrub it. Also get a bottle of that daily shower cleaner. you just spray it on after the shower and it helps prevent all that gunk from building up. If the shower curtain is that bad, just go get a new one. They're only a couple bucks

For the mold and mildew, buy a spray bleach cleaner, spray the liner and let it set 30 minutes or so then rinse clean. Spray the liner with spray on Comet or sprinkle the powder kind on and scrub it off. DO NOT mix with the bleach cleaner unless you use Comet with Bleach.

unless they are expensive... I'd toss them and start over.
Then with the new one... wipe them down. That's what my grandmother did with her curtain with the towel she just used on her body.
If that's too much trouble.. I'd spray it with Lysol or with some kind of mildew killer. We just started using that product that with the press of a button will clean your tub/shower including liner.. been using it a month and it's working out great.

you can do it in the washing machine, in hot water, with towels, to agitate with the plastic and get rid of the scummy stuff. You can add ammonia or vinegar to the water to help cut thru the gunk. Or if the liner was inexpensive to start with, just go for a new one :)

Just learned that a 30% vinegar to water mix sprayed on after showers helps to prevent mold, also let it dry outside the tub after each shower!

I throw mine in the washing machine on the gentle cycle with bleach. Works great! No need to dry it of course, just hang it back up when you take it out of the washer. Try it and see.
