Taking $1 per share from a $5 takeover and putting it in their pocket.

Depressing median worker salaries so that their salary can be $10M.

Putting fed dollars in their pocket and asking the middle class to pick up the tab.

Skimming from the top, distributing the losses among the masses. Is this the American way? Its ok to steal from the many to benefit the few? Like Robin Hood in reverse, or perhaps exactly what justified Robin Hood in his actions. Has it always been thus?

Actually, they really DO print the money. And money may not grow on trees because the money is from the tree itself. Although if you want to get all tao about it, money is simply the representation of money, not the money itself.

I thought it was stealing so that they can continue to lead this country as "the moral majority."

I think you're talking about politicians in general, because I know it isn't only the republicans skimming and proposing laws that they have been lobbied to push. Just like the newly elected Dems, in discussing reform, are thinking they will work on the lobbying thing, but not worry about the earmarks (which is the real issue).

Additionally, it is the Democrats that will raise taxes, it's part of their ideology. They may not increase them across the board, or they may, but either way, they are taking away people's hard earned income. The Democrats are for handouts and a welfare state, whereas the Republicans are for individual accountability.

I guess we shouldn't expect everyone to work for what they get, or to contribute to society.

Sometimes it's unfortunate, but I remain a Democrat.

Holy cow - how ignorant can one person be?

"putting federal dollars in their pocket and asking the middle class to pick up the tab"

Exactly where does the federal government get their money Einstein? Do they just print it up? You probably think so.

They get their money from taxation. You see, the dollars are FIRST created and earned by the citizens, and THEN the federal government TAKES it in the form of taxes. So those "conservatives" aren't taking federal dollars. If anything, they are not allowing the federal government to take MORE dollars from THEIR pockets.

You idiot liberals seem to think that money comes from the government and is given to the citizens. With an entitlement-welfare-handout mentality, that is understandable. But for those of us who actually earn livings and try hard to succeed, we are very clear on the fact that WE make the money and then give it to the government.

Go take an economics class you clueless twit.

Ethicists consider that this is a symptom of being unable to see immediately the consequences of unethical or immoral behaviour on the people it disadvantages (the back-yard effect). The same reasoning explains why a person can pamper a pet with expensive food, and yet ignore a beggar in the street. Mirko Bagaric wrote a reasonable article in The Age today (see link) about this issue.

Yes that has always been the American way!! Study history!
Our country was not founded on religous freedom or persecution. It was founded because rich white men didnt want to pay taxes to England so England could pay for the war to save us from the French.
Ah throughout the history of the US there has always been one segment of the people held down for the benefit of a few.
Slaves, Irish, Italians, now its the working poor. It will never end.

Aren't they such classic hypocrites? Do as I say, not as I do. Don't be gay, only I can be gay and harrass your youngsters that are pages in Washington, only I can cheat on my wife, or hooked on prescription drugs- the rest of you are junkies, cheaters, or less than moral! I am so sick of their greater than thou, hippocrite attitudes and hope that some real, virtuous, and helpful changes take place in the country with the new regime change. If the democrats steer us wrong, then certainly, they are no better than the lying republicans who have done so much to take away our freedom by preying on our fears! I want America's checkbook balanced and our respect back!

Obviously you do not have a degree in economics. For example, protectionism (ex - farm subsidies) is a classic liberal idea. It actually diverts wealth from the poorest of the world's population to the wealthiest. It's merchantilism via policy - piracy without need for the ships.

Because those are conservative amounts. They are conservatively immoral, as though a little bit is not a real issue. This is not meant to imply that all conservatives do this. Could they not turn it around and complain about the liberal amounts taken by liberals?

Clearly a socialist politician is much cleverer they steal from half the population. Give it to the other half and get them to vote for them.
Oh! Meanwhile they put all their family assets in offshore trusts so they don't get taxed. Kennedy's
Don't believe it yahoo it.

Scuse...but isn't that exactly what the Socialist Democrats do when they raise taxes?

When taxes are cut (even for the rich, who do the hiring) the economy prospers, and revenues increase more than the proposed tax increase amount... simple economics 1-A....

I love how liberals generalize!!! "Why do conservatives feel its ok to steal as long as they are taking just a little bit from each person?"

ok, well, next time you should put.. why do SOME conservatives... and I'm not going to even get started on what SOME liberals think and do!
