I am finishing up installation of a new 5.0 L in my 1990 Ford. I was thinking of getting a K&N air filter, but saw Fram advertises their "Airhog" filters as being as good. The Airhog is reuseable and orange like K&N and it only would cost $10 after Fram's $20 rebate (http://info.rockauto.com/Honeywell/FRAMDetail.html?PPA5056_012406.jpg) But if I get a lifetime filter I might as well get the best one right from the start. Anybody recommend Airhog vs. K&N or some other brand for the Ford 5.0?

You will find no difference between the AirHog and the K&N, except the price.

Do what you can afford.

I've used both and was pleased. If you decide later that you want to go with the K&N, you'll have a little time to save some money. Plus, you can sell your used AirHog on Ebay.

How much is the K&N?
Some say the K&N filter thing is a lot of hype. I'd get it if you can afford it. Otherwise the $10 may do the exact same job with no noticable difference.
