What is the difference between formatting and reformatting a hard drive and how do you do each task?

Reformatting your hard drive is like sorting through a really cluttered filing cabinet. This cluttering can eventually lead to computer malfunction or breakdown. It prepares the computer before actually formatting the machine.

Formatting removes data from your hard drive for good. Once formatting has taken place there is no turning back.
