Do you live in the part of the country that still has a living garden? You could make large Christmas packages, light them up and place them in your garden. Place some on their sides, giving the appearance that they fell out of Santa's sled. This site will give you ideas of how NOT to decorate your garden.I must admit that they are different though.

Lights, and ornaments.

My one friend decorates sleighs, she get a sleigh, then puts garland on it, and lights, and as a finishing touch she adds big Christmas bulbs, and a beautiful ribbon. They are beautiful when done, then she goes one step futher and finds sleighs, (different sizes - depending on the garden) and she decorates those up with garland and wrapped packages, stringing lights around the outside of the sleigh.

Hope this gives you an idea or two. Merry Christmas!

I saw something in a catalogue that I liked. It was Santa, angels, etc., in white, so as to look like they belong in a winter garden, in the snow.
Paint some bird feeders red and green for the holidays.
Put electric lights on small evergreens or bushes. They look marvelous on bare bushes.
Someone out in the suburbs does their garage door up as a calender, with a flood light on it..

Decorate for the birds and critters - put out bird feeders, peanuts, suet, seeds, apples, popcorn strings. They will be happy and fed in the winter and you'll get a show.
