I would say that the best indicator of how money will be spent is how the person always spent it. Lottery winners who were savers tended to be better off then the folks who won and did not manage there money well.
Personally, in this order:
1. A good financial advisor and attorney
2. Fully insured or better insured in areas previously insured
3. Solid real estate investments (perhaps a REIT)
4. Solid stock portfolio
5. Charities that support child welfare
6. A good month long restful vacation
7. A second home
8. A bit to a deserving relative or friend
Be careful. I have been here. You would be amazed at how many people come out of the woodwork.

I believe money is the biggest factor that can change a person's life. In the past few years, I got everything I ever wanted. The only thing that would be icing on the cake is financial wealth. I would, of course, pay off the house and the bills. Then have my dream home built from scratch, either in Arizona or Hawaii. Then I would spend the rest of my life with my wife and child travelling and relaxing. Probably playing golf, basketball, and anything else I felt like doing.

Yes, it would change things. I wouldn't be so stressed out because I'd be able to pay my bills and have money left over. I'd be much more carefree! I'd still work but I wouldn't have to worry about what I was being paid, just that it was something I enjoy (like my current job). My first purchase would probably be a celebratory dinner and then I would pay off my student loans.

It would depend on the amount! If the amount was over 100,000 I would do the repares on my house that need to be done, build the kitchen I want, and put the rest in to my childrens C.O.D. accounts to gain interest. If it was over 500,000 Iwould all of the above except I would put 10,000 in to both of my childrens accounts, start my husbands fencing bussiness that he has always wanted ( he is a sub contractor for a fencing company), and then the rest into savings account to build interest.
