By inconsistent I mean, beat teams they shouldn't beat, but then lose to teams they should be able to beat.

inconsistent is worse for the fans. horrible teams sometimes have great fans, but an inconsistent team will draw rage. especially if they were good at some point in the recent past.

Well... there are a couple of aspects that go into a consistently bad NFL team. Most people say a bad teams has bad players. A team can have good players, but be bad. For example... the Cowboys have a great depth chat... but lose because of locker room purposes. They don't character. Another small aspect is not drafting well. You can't get all your guys from the free agency. You need youth. Look at the Raiders. They have a top 10 pick almost every year. Still, they suck. The Dolphins had a first round pick and got so much out of it. You need to draft well in every round because you can get Marion Barbers or Tom Brady in late rounds peace...
