Life is only what you make of it. I think that sometimes people put so much stress into their own lives that they forget to enjoy themselves. They are always looking for the perfect partner, job, friends. I believe in taking life one day at a time and taking the time to smile and laugh. Taking life too serious can make for a really depressing time. Don't question yourself or worry about it....just live!

Hi I read your question and felt deeply touched-I guess for me what IS serious and important is how people are feeling. It doesn't matter whether I know them or not. It's enough for me to know that they are just like me-they FEEL and are therefore capable of joy or suffering. Life seems pretty serious to me when you list out stuff like Poverty,Pain,Fear,Hunger,War,Climate change to name a few. But there are two sides to every coin. There is good and there is not-so-good. Everything can be measured in degrees of goodness because that's how I have Chosen to see Life. Everyone has a different point of view because life experience conditions response. Think about that -
What makes us human is the capacity to think and feel. We are if you like ambassadors of the Heart and Mind-
When there is a kind of void and the signposts are missing life can SEEM kind of pointless, meaningless for some. It depends on the perception of the situation.
Your last sentence is poignant and perceptive-you are quite right-Deep inside of you you already KNOW so much and in many ways perhaps the outside world is unaware of your deep sensitivity. Society covers a very large number of people made up of individuals of varying degrees of goodness. Seek out those who reflect your deeper values and can help you find meaning. Think about what you value most-for me it is relationships-communication, kindness and imagination.
How you might be feeling right now will pass because that is the nature of life-Everything passes-Everything changes. Just like a river on its journey to the wider sea. We may not necessarily understand the Why or How or When, but rest assured we are all- even the smallest of us- fulfilling a purpose. .
School/Education really begins when you graduate and enter into the UNiversity of daily Life. Up till now my sense is that the education system today is desperately failing many young people- yet at the same time there are many who are working hard toward establishing a system that recognises the innate spiritual intelligence of the child.
I take life seriously because the other side of the coin is Death. My fear of the 'unknown' has led me to ask many questions one of which is 'What is the meaning of Life mean' What is my purpose? To find an answer I had to use my imagination-to dare -to dream- and in so doing discovered the journey/quest begins and ends with the heart and mind. Look after them both-keep them from freezing by staying 'open' to Life. Fill them with Beauty-Goodness and Truth- Love your self and your current circumstance-it is a GIFT.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. People are serious, dead serious about life. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

Even if life is purposeless there is no reason to do nothing. In fact there is every reason it do what you love to do. Live, learn, have fun, these are the real reasons we keep on going in this world. What you have done thus far in your life is not wasted time, that was what it took to get you to this point in your life. Now that you know this little secret you don't have to take life a seriously which is nice.

Wow! Good for you. You definitely have been taking life seriously. You are able to learn from your experience, see the void in the realm of your experiences, and you feel a greater calling for yourself. Although you seem unsure of these feelings, you should be able to reflect on the achievement in thought that you have made just by thinking them.
Now however, it is up to you to decide what you want to do with your human life. Do you want to play the game for riches, play it for answers, play it for keeps, or all three. It is now up to you to decide which path is most inviting and it is up to you to decide how to manipulate your world to better suit your desires.
Once you can realize this, enjoy your ability, enjoy those around you, and enjoy your life!

Take yourself lightly, life is a responsibility that is ever changing. Everything passes. Laughter is the best medicine. etc. A lot of cliches about life. Life wasn't meant to be easy. Stay in the moment. Today. Yesterday is history, tomorrows a mystery today is the present, that is a gift.

Does life have meaning without death? ~~~ No. They both define each other, just like all such 'thoughts'; 'good/bad/evil, tall/short, whatever... They are a matter of Perspective, and; "For every Perspective, there is an equal and opposite Perspective!" - The First Law of Soul Dynamics Is it true that without death, all we have are just random events? Accumulation? something you can't call life? ~~~ No. Without 'thoughts' (of whatever; 'life', 'death', 'beauty', 'ugly', 'sane', 'insane'...) what is, remains that which is perceived, Knowledge/Reality. The flower exists, by your perceiving it, whether or not you perceive 'thoughts' about it or not.

Nice thinking.
Welcome to my life.
People should take life not seriously and just do what they feel like doing. Maybe build yourself a house if your cold or sing if its quiet.
But life has evolved into this empire that everyone has to go with because if you don't then you are somekind of **** up outkast, when really its normal. So we really don't have a choice but to go along with it and pretend we agree with it so that we are not wierd "life losers" (in there eyes). If you go along with this "life" thing that everyone is talking about then you are "normal", becuase the majority rules in this world and the majority of people here go along with the "normal" society.

I believe in this world each individual has meaning and purpose and something uniquely different to offer. Have patience my friend, and you too will come to learn yours. Your a very young person and you still have many journeys, experienes, and life lessons to learn. And don't be so hard on yourself. Many of us out there that are much older than you, still don't know what to do with ourselves and what we want. But, continue your studies for they provide the fuel needed for a successful future. For now, enjoy life and and live it, don't search for meaning and validation for it will one day come to you. Have fun and never take life so seriously!!!

Isn't the point of education to first obtain it ,then use it to better experience your own life and others as well. There is no such thing as life without meaning. Life is a spiritual experience,a growth of spiritual awareness. the essence of your being is unconditional love.It is your purpose and your duty to awaken to your unity with God in unconditional love,& to allways express "that" which you are.
