Use the spray. It'll get rid of your gnats and solve the cat infestation at the same time!

If you have gnats, it's because there is some type of old food around. Find the cause and get rid of it, then clean very good with a bleach water solution. this should take care of them.

Don't leave out bananas.
I had an infestation of them last year. I used spray, swatter, bug zapper, vaccuum cleaner daily to zoop them up flying, and a small dish of soy sauce. they all worked but it's hard to get rid of after they are there.
Go to Walmart and try to find an out of season Zapper for $5 or so. Then leave it all 24/7. Then next year, the second it turns fall, turn it back on. That's what we did... and didn't leave out bananas... and so far so good. just one here and there. Oh, and keep the litter cleaned out twice as well/often.

You'll have to clean and disinfect every nook and cranny and make sure your doors and windows are properly sealed. Just put your cat in a room for a few hours until the fumes have cleared.
