If you're trying to explain it to younger kids, there's a simple-English version of the same page. I've linked to it as well.

Basically there is little truth to the Thanksgiving holiday as we know it. Yesterday, I saw this program in the National Geographic Channel and it provided good information about Thanksgiving.

The real truth about thanksgiving is being with your loved ones and being thankful for what you have. Some people doesn't even have food to eat or shelter. I am very thankful that i have a roof over my head, food to eat, and clothes on my back even though i am not rich.

Real truth? Kill people-who-you-think-are-indians. Take their land. Leave them with only minimal land.
