I am 13 weeks and 4 days, with my first. I have been wearing maternity for a couple of weeks now, I really could just go a size bigger at this point but dont wanna spend the extra money, so the maternity clothes are a bit big right now, but much more comfortable than the tight clothes I was wearing. Good Luck and Congrats!

Since it is your first pregnancy, you will "show" a little later than if you had been pregnant before. Most women find themselves "moving" to a full-time maternity wardrobe after the first trimester (usually 13-17 weeks). But don't freak out if you don't need them until much later - even closer to the middle or end of your second trimester!

Of course, size DOES matter - so if you have a bigger baby or are a larger person, then you may need them sooner.

Best of luck to you in the rest of your pregnancy!

I am 20 weeks now and I am not even close to wearing maternity clothes. Just use a rubber band through the button of your jeans and wear shirts that are a little bit looser. You don't need them until you are 6-7 months or more.

Whenever you can't fit into your normal clothes any more. There are no hard and fast rules as to when you should change into maternity clothes- it's a thing only you can make the decision about.
Good luck, and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Everyone is different. It depends on how fast you start to show. Some women are able to wear regular clothes in a larger size, but most women switch to maternity clothes for comfort.

I have been preggo 4 times. I absolutely hate it when some girl, goes around acting like they are 9months pregnant and that their bellies are so big, you know arching back sticking tummy out. remember, say you wear a size 8 size medium, buy those sizes in maternity clothes, I always started showing around 4 months, i gained a lot of wait, but remember to buy low waisted pants, maternity or regular. GAP maternity is great, so is motherhood!
Good Luck and Congrats!! your baby is about the size of a half dollar right now

It depends on when you start showing!! I got mine normally after 4 to 5 mths.. E-bay has a lot of maternity clothes if you don't mind wearing used clothing!! Good luck to you

I'm only 10 weeks and will need to go shopping soon. Although I've found the "hair tie trick" quite helpful in fitting ito my jeans a little longer!

Hair Tie Trick: Take a Coated hair tie (not a scrunchie) and pull it through the belt loop of your jeans, take the other 2 ends of the hair tie and put them around the button (wrappin around button if necessary. Just make sur e you're wearing a long enough shirt to cover!

Depending on how much you are eating, you might not have to start wearing maternity clothes until you're in your 2nd trimester, usually 4th or maybe 5th month.

Usually 4 months but you want to make sure you're not wearing tight clothes at anytime. Every woman is different.....bumps come at different times! Start shopping now for couple of pairs of great preggo jeans, they'll be the best thing you own!
