I bought a Netgear Router about 2 years ago. The connection reads "Excellent" and the bph reads 11.

If I buy a new router that gets 54bph and an "Excellent" connection, will I really notice a difference? Will it be that much faster? Should I skip 54 and go to the 108 bph? Where will I really see a difference.

This is for the home.

well 11mbps is still faster than your Internet. If you get a new router that is 54mbps or 108mbps is is useless unless you want to share data from computer to computer.

If you are transferirng files on your home network, getting a new router will speed that up. However for internet usage, it wont make a big difference

No. You are limited by the connection to your ISP. If you have DSL or cable, this is 1-3MB max.

Hurry up and wait...still
