The most effective and still safe, odourless way of getting rid of cockroaches is to inject "Good Bye" Cockroach Killing Gel. Pl. keep this gel at the places where you find cockroaches. Leave the gel for 2-3 days and keep on cleaning dead cockroaches. This is 100% proven. I have tried myself. You will not have cockroaches at least for 6 to 8 months again. All the best. I am not sure whether the same is available in India as I had procured the same from Abu Dhabi, UAE

The word cockroach comes from the Spanish word cucaracha which means "crazy bug". The old way of treating for German roaches is by cleaning out you cabinets, spraying inside your cabinets and spraying around your baseboards. This method doesn't work. This method will only make it seem like your cockroaches are gone and only for a short period of time. The cockroach retreats back into your walls and cracks and crevices.

The best way to rid your home of cockroaches is to use baits. You can call your local pest control company, but be careful. Not all companies are honest. If your local pest control company tells you they can rid your home of cockroaches for $39.95, beware. Getting rid of cockroaches in your home takes time. There will be extra charges.

If you want to get rid of cockroaches yourself, go to your local hardware store, homecenter or even Walgreen's and buy some ®Combat roach bait gel. It usually comes in a syringe or tube and apply this gel in all cracks and crevices in your home. All kitchen cabinets ( you don't have to empty your cabinets ). Just apply it in tiny dots about the size of a BB and no larger than a pea. Apply it to all corners of your cabinets and anywhere else you see cockroaches. Even boric acid works well. If you have a heavy infestation open up all your electrical switch plate covers and apply in the wall through the switch plate covers.

Of course, this is not all that should be done. If you would like to learn more on getting rid of the cockroaches in your home and what to expect, How To Get Rid of Cockroaches.
German Cockroaches are some of the most persistent cockroaches in the United States.

The German cockroach, as with any pest, can become an enormous problem in your home if not taken care of. If I were you, I wouldn't let these cockroaches multiply. Each egg capsule contains from 20 to 40 eggs and can infest your home quickly. German Cockroaches are mostly found indoors but can be found outdoors. This is usually due to a heavy infestation indoors. They like tight places and this is usually why you find them mostly in cracks and crevices and mostly at night. They are nocturnal. But in a home with a heavy infestation you will find the German cockroach everywhere, day and night. Cockroaches have been identified as a common cause of asthma.

Health experts say "inhalation of cockroach feces and body fragments, particularly among inner-city children, has resulted in an explosion of asthma cases in the past two decades."

Being in the pest control industry for 12 years, I've learned quite a few things about cockroaches. There are five basic types of cockroaches that may enter our homes. These basic types are the German cockroach, American cockroach, smokey brown, Oriental, and brown banded cockroaches.

The two smaller types of cockroaches are the German cockroach and the brown banded cockroach. These cockroaches are about 1/2 to 5/8 inches long. The larger types, which most people call waterbugs are the American cockroach, Oriental and Smokey brown cockroaches. These roaches are about 1 to 1-1/2 inches long.

Most cockroaches do not fly but on occasion the larger types such as the American will fly across a room with much embarrassment to you.
Some facts that your local pest control company may not want you to know!

Did you know that you could be letting a criminal or convicted felon into your home! Your plumber, air-conditioner repairman, electrician, carpet cleaner or pest control technician. Although when applying or renewing a license with the State, individuals are required to admit on the license application whether convicted of a felony, the consumer is unaware. Think about it!

To prevent this from happening to you, always ask the company about the person they are sending to your home. You have the right to know. Ask questions. It's time someone stood up for the consumer.

They make this stuff called "Roach Rid" that can be found at most co-op and/or feed stores. It's a white powdery substance with no odor and is very inexpensive...I think we paid $6 for a box. We put some behind the fridge, behind the washer and dryer and in the back of the cabinets under the sink in the kitchen. Inside of two months all bugs were gone. The way it works is the bugs walk through the stuff and carry it back to the nest. We lived in a quadriplex (4 apartments in one building) and after 3 months all units were bug-free. It is poisonous to animals, so if you can find it make sure you put it down in places that animal can't get to. Good luck!!

I do customer service in a pest control company -

The best thing for you to do is hire a monthly extermination service that will give you free followup services in between. Roaches are hard to get rid of, and it will take mor than a few services to get the problem under control. The best thing you can do besides hiring a pro is keep the house spotless. Roaches will eat anything! Dead skin, bits of toothpaste on your toothbrush (seriously), grease, crumbs, etc... ANYTHING! And depending on the species of roach they can have 200-500 babies in one month! The best thing to do his hire a professional and make sure your house is spotless. Clean behind the fridge, stove, in the cabinets, on top of the stove, etc. You have to clean the house, and keep it clean. Although, keep in mind you can have a spotless house and still have roaches in your walls, and if you are seeing them now then are likely running out of room because roaches generally like to stay out of sight. You probably have a pretty big problem. The problem with fog treatments are they only kill what is out and about and not the thousands still in your walls. Fogs are not long-time solutions. Good luck!

Unfortunately, cockroaches are the only living thing on the planet that will survive a nuclear blast. You can't get rid of them. Sorry.... the only thing you can do is keep the place free from food and other stuff. Keep the lights on. Clean your toaster EVERY DAY, etc. Wish I could help. The only other thing you can do to get rid of them is to move.... If you are renting, perhaps you can at least have your rent lowered...

Call an exterminator, because the roaches may be living in between your walls and roach spray can't get there.

Once the exterminator has come and gone try to prevent eating food in anywhere but the kitchen and try not to leave dirty dishes over night if possible. Roaches generally come when they have something to eat.

Hope this helps

You can buy one of those smoke bombs that kill roaches. I think they sell them at the grocery store and WalMart and Target. The only bad thing about the smoke bomb is that you will have to leave the house for a while, and then when you get back home there will be dead roaches and bugs all over the floor. Good luck!

well if your renting you could get an exterminator but they would have to pretty much spray the whole building. If your in a house you might be able to get them to move on if you get a good exterminator. sounds like you have the german roach which wont only stay in the kitchen in bathroom. my sister had those and she just ended up moving out.

Boric acid, it is very effective when used properly for killing cockroaches and most other insects. You can also get a house lizard, they are natural enemies and will eat them. More information at http://tinyurl.com/ofxkk
