Well since he is a racist idiot, and another moron provoked him they got into an argument. The other guy didn't know when to shut up,and M.R. didn't have the brains to ignore him and be the bigger person if he didn't like what he was being called.Basically he is a big baby, and can't handle people making fun of him.I mean really we have all been called something, but we just ignore the assholes that say it.

What this situation is REALLY about most people are missing. It is not about Michael Richard's racism -- is about the double standard that blacks expect in America. If a black comedian uses the word "honky" or "cracker" nobody bats an eye because whites choose to not be offended by those terms. I could not care less if some black comic calls a white person a cracker or a honky. But blacks have chosen to create this taboo aura around the use of the word n i gg e r so that no one EXCEPT BLACKS CAN USE IT. Blacks call one another n i gg e r all day every day and no one is supposed to bat an eye. It is all right if blacks use it. But whites can't. Mexicans can't. Asians can't. Only blacks get to use that word. What if we as whites suddenly said that only WE can use words like, "graduate", "not guilty", "educated" and we said that blacks cannot use those words--only WE can. Blacks would be screaming within five minutes that we were racist. Yet when blacks choose to only get to use the word n i gg e r it is the EXACT same thing. That proves that blacks don't really mean it when they claim they want to be treated equally--they don't. They want SPECIAL treatment. In effect, they are saying, "WE can use this term but no one else can." Translated that means, "We want to have special privileges that others don't enjoy." Therefore in an ironic twist that only O.Henry would truly appreciate, it is the BLACK community that really demonstrates the most racism over this whole Michael Richards episode much more than Michael Richards does. Ironic huh?

and if tonya chick don't care for the questions or can make a reasonable response then you need to get the hell out of the forum you racist idiot. How the hell you going to justify his racist remarks because of some stupid hecklers? its obvious we know tonya don't care too much for African Americans, so please Tonya do us all a favor and get off your soap box, and shut up. His actions can't be justified, and sorry to the person who posted the question but to answer your question he was being heckled by some idiots which caused him to come to reality and express his true feelings. I like how u posted your question...

He was bombing so bad at the Laugh-In and was being treated so bad by the two black guys who were heckling him at the club, that he just went off and told them what HE thought would have happened to them if it was years ago. (But then, if it was years ago when this would have happened, we African Americans would not have either been in the front seat-maybe not even invited in the building-to see his performance in the first place.)
Makes you wonder what if there weren't black men heckling-like Koreans or Spanish-speaking people-would he have made a remark towards them, too? I personally, now, think he would have.
Just like Mel with his anti-Jew rant, we are now getting what Michael is feeling towards them. Interesting and sad.
It is interestingly sad. Let's see him try to make a comeback of anything out of this.

I do not know why he said the things he said but many people are outraged. Most people probably would have wanted to be warned before the show started that it was going to be offensive. There are just certain things you should not say to an open audience.

He is a racist, and it just came out!!
Blacks can make fun of themselves, Hispanics can make fun of themselves, but given the violent history of whites like the KKK or Nazi's, it's dumb for a White to even think about making fun of Blacks.
