By bus: 4-5 hours

Car: If you drive fast, within 3 hours
Bus: Usually about 5 hours if there is no major jam
Plane: Around an hour, you need to go to the airport 2 hours in advance for check in
Train: around 8 hours

Air ~ approx. 45 mins.
Land: Car ~ depending on traffic/ type of car/ driving ~> approx. anywhere between 3 to 6hrs.
~ Ship ~> possibly 2 days as they need to make a stopover at other spots
~ Train ~> 7 to 8 hrs.

If you take bus from singapore to KL, you would need about 5-7 hours due to the congested traffic in KL.
If you take aiplane, you can take budget airline which would still cost more expensive than taking a bus. But the travelling hour would be shorten by a lot.
But please remember that you still have to take a taxi to your hotel.
