I like a controversial question. However racist, homophobic, illiterate, nasty, questions that are not even questions by people who seem to just try and provoke reaction are hardly worth the effort

Depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm up for a good intellectual questions and other times I just jump on here to waste time and prefer the easy short answer type questions. That being said, the 'could I be pregnant' questions always drive me nuts. If you're not sure how the whole procreation thing works you shouldn't be having sex and if you know how it works and think you might be pregnant go spend the five bucks for a test and find out. There is no need to bother everyone else with that type of question.

Definitely controversial questions are more stimulating, but I wonder what the motivation is behind some. Are these questions being raised in hopes of heightening awareness, and forcing us to think about our own held beliefs; or are they out to shock us with their pure audacity?

Just the usual. I think people ask the controversial questions just to see what kind of s*** they can stir up.

I like to read them, though, to get a good laugh

I like to give my opinions on controvercial questions but only if I can support my stance. I think I have some good things to say sometimes. But I also spend a lot of time basically doing research for straight forward Q's. Whatever is there to keep me busy!

I prefer to answer honest questions as opposed to questions that people post just to rant and rave about a topic.
