What do you consider beautiful? How would you explain it to someone that had never heard the word?

"A thing of beauty is joy for ever"! some thing that we want to see again and again, some thing that we never tire seeing again and again, has beauty, is beautiful! True friendship is beautiful!

I will try and answer this.
My defination of beauty is that thing in someone or something that is pleasant, that makes you want to stop and look at it some more. It is something that cannot be described in one word.
In a person beauty may be phyical features that are appealing to the eyes and yet there is something much more that physical attraction, but something that radiates from the inside of the person, call it a calm spirit, a pleasant and warm personality and definately upright morals. It goes beyond the elegance of Fashion and make-up.
I would call a charismatic, kind, calm, warm,pleasant morally-upright person beautiful.

Beauty isn't just the outside looks, it is what you have inside that makes the beauty in a person. Kindness, sharing, softness, is some characteristics of beauty.

Beauty to me in indefinable! How could I define generally because I will base it on what I think is beautiful, which may not be what you find beautiful!

when your allright living within your own skin regardless of how others may view your outer appearance that's when you know that you are beautiful.
