Well people can be azzholes...and provoke the comments they get sometimes...everyone is human, and everyone loses it from time to time, but he should never have said what he said, or gone on that way, and on stage in front of an audience. He must be stressed and in a really bad place in his head to have done that.

Even so he has been humiliated enough by the media, and has apologized, and people should just get over it and move on. What a cruel thing to go on and on and on about it.

It's too much this sick obsession the public has with celebrities, and the media is at fault and the paparazzi are a bad, bad thing for this world and will find themselves victims of thier own lust for this kind of thing one day.

They can literally push someone to the brink of insanity and they do, and then they stand proud of themselves for doing so...what a sick, sick lot of people. Amazing there is anyone with any sanity left in this world.

Jeannie...do you see white folk going on and on and one when someone black calls them honkeys or whatever other terms used? This is fine in music, on videos, anywhere..no one cries race then...what a bunch of one sided crap. Race is and always will be an issue, despite anyone saying it never will be. Blacks cant be white and whites cant be black. Most people live together quite well in harmony...but when people get ugly...they get ugly...and just as someone would call someone fat, a pig, a ho, or any other name...one must learn to forgive and get over it. People are more ready to accept someone like OJ who has committed murder and defend that before they would forgive someone who lost their temper with words...something majorly wrong with that attitude. You know what, he was wrong, and deserves whatever reaction he gets from the public over it. My issue is that the media just keeps fueling and fueling this rather than just letting it go by. Why because they are sick and it's just as much a crime what they do which is incite even more hatred rather than trying to make peace.

I doubt he is a true racist seeing how occasional black cast members joined Seinfeld (notably the fast talking lawyer, remember him?) I admit I did not see the video of Michael Richards going off on the heckler. However, I have read it was a shouting match where Kramer used several instances of profane racist language and the effect on the audience was shocking. Later Kramer did apologize and Seinfeld too supported his friend and said Michael Richards surely feels bad. Think about the pressure on Michael Richards after the relative success of Jerry Seinfeld in light of a TV show spun around the notion of a stand-up comic becoming successful.

What this situation is REALLY about most people are missing. It is not about Michael Richard's racism -- is about the double standard that blacks expect in America. If a black comedian uses the word "honky" or "cracker" nobody bats an eye because whites choose to not be offended by those terms. I could not care less if some black comic calls a white person a cracker or a honky. But blacks have chosen to create this taboo aura around the use of the word n i gg e r so that no one EXCEPT BLACKS CAN USE IT. Blacks call one another n i gg e r all day every day and no one is supposed to bat an eye. It is all right if blacks use it. But whites can't. Mexicans can't. Asians can't. Only blacks get to use that word. What if we as whites suddenly said that only WE can use words like, "graduate", "not guilty", "educated" and we said that blacks cannot use those words--only WE can. Blacks would be screaming within five minutes that we were racist. Yet when blacks choose to only get to use the word n i gg e r it is the EXACT same thing. That proves that blacks don't really mean it when they claim they want to be treated equally--they don't. They want SPECIAL treatment. In effect, they are saying, "WE can use this term but no one else can." Translated that means, "We want to have special privileges that others don't enjoy." Therefore in an ironic twist that only O.Henry would truly appreciate, it is the BLACK community that really demonstrates the most racism over this whole Michael Richards episode much more than Michael Richards does. Ironic huh?

I am completely disgusted and sickened by Richard's outburst. I don't care if he was being heckled. I don't care if they yelled and talked during this set. He's getting paid thousands of dollars to stand up on a stage and tell jokes. He's been a comedian for a while so he should know that it comes with the territory (a heckler every now and then). And his racial comments were absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for. And for the record, I was equally disgusted by the heckler who in turn made his own racial slurs toward Richards.

He's old enough to know better than to use those words he lashed out. There are better ways of handling hecklers. He could have walked off stage after saying to the crowd you can thank those guys for ending the show. He could have had security come over and remove them while he was on stage. He could have ignored them. He could have said that even though they don't like him other people came to see the show so be quiet and let the others enjoy the show. But he didn't, he lashed out and now no one will forget it. Like I said there are better ways of handling hecklers and now he's responsible for his own actions/words. The club should ban him, because now they can't trust him there's no telling that he won't lash out again.

First: He denies it, but he's obviously a racist. It wouldn't occur to a nonracist to use such terms.

Second: He's an actor, not a standup comic. A pro standup has enough savvy to deal with hecklers without losing his cool.

Prediction: He just tanked his career for the next six months. Hope he saved some of that Seinfeld money.

It's completely unacceptable for him to have said what he did. He says now that he isn't racist, but I doubt that....even when you're mad, you cannot disrespect others in this manner. Personally, I think even his apology was fake and induced by the media....he is on something or just has no self respect or respect for others whatsoever...

Let me say this. HE SHOULDN"T Said it. I been to a bunch of comedy shows. Some people yell out "U Suck" or other things. But the comedians did not call them a N****R, BLACK NOR WHITE. They trip on them probably joking on THEM. Gary Owens trip on blacks without saying anything racially. Carlos Mencia did it. Richards shouldn't have say it PERIOD. The dude did not call Richards anything racially. He sucked. When I play basketball, fans say I suck just to get under my skin, but they respect me and other players. Never did I go to them and call them a dumb azz n........ or cracker *** n........ Becasue they just say "I suck". Yall get mad at Artest and TO, but can't get mad at this guy. TO apologize, Artest apologize but nobody care. But when this punk apologize everybody wanna say the situation is nothing, let it go. THATS DUMB. Artest got hit with beer, he went after those people. And yall say he should've call the security. WELL RICHARDS SHOULD"VE TOLD THE SECURITY TO REMOVE THEM IF THEY WERE BOTHERING HIM, INSTEAD OF CALLING THEM THE N-WORD or JOKE ON THEM, CLEANLY. TO and Artest are enemy #1 nobody can't stand them. And we should accept this mutherfu(ker apology and let it go on. TO and Artest didn't did nothing RACIST. MICHAEL RICHARDS DID.

he apologized live on Letterman last night and seemed genuinely sorry for his lapse in judgment; Seinfeld and Letterman both seemed to think he was truly remorseful; let it go; he made a bad error of judgment and has apologized; there are no known time machines; he can't go back and change the moment

unacceptable as a "professional" comedian. He responded like the true loser he is, and even worse he was unfunny about it. He sounded like he has issues...repeating everything 2-3 times.

I didn't see his apology but i'm sure he didn't mean it. He showed his true feelings on that stage
