No. There's never a good reason to say such things, no matter how upset you are. ESPECIALLY knowing that you're in the spotlight. Why is it these stars, actors, whatever say these hateful things and expect that an apology is going to make it all better? Did you hear his apology that was on Letterman? He threw in all this stuff about hurricane Katrina and the war, almost like he was trying to mix it in to downplay the whole situation or something.

Also, almost all comedians have hecklers and most know the appropriate way to either put them in their place or tolerate them without resorting to this BS. Maybe he should consider getting out of the stand up biz if he can't handle the heat.

Why wouldn't you. He had an episode and lost his cool but so would anybody if they came to your job and started making fun of you for a short period of time. I'm sure he regrets what he did to some point and I'm sure on some level he feels good to stand up for himself. (he did take it a bit too far). The ones who owe the apology is the Laugh factory to the people who had to leave the show after paying and for not kicking those people out earlier. No hecklers means no tyraid. By the way, how many of us have NEVER lost control of our emotions?

The hecklers were not using racial taunts against Richards. They were simply saying he wasn't funny. As for accepting his apology. Yes, everyone deserves redemption.

He does not need to apologize to anyone. The hecklers in the crowd were drunks. Just so happen they were black. Big freaking deal. I'm sick of all this politically correct crap. If it was the other way around it wouldn't have even made the news

It depends on the circumstance. If they ticked him off enough for him to reply with an insult, then chances are that they weren't being angels. Name-calling shouldn't be taken seriously, though. Peace?

Yes, there is no other sign that he is racist, he was provoked by hecklers who apparently were directing racial taunts at him.
