hi posted a question here earlier about not being able to play dvds anymore and yet it used to, ok with cds, was sent a file to download power dvd but am in a bit of a mess with it all as only a novice at all this, think the file downloaded but when i go to my documents cant see it , and yet 11 small boxes showed up when it had downloaded, know this probably dosent make sense to most of you as hard to explain what i mean, so know im asking too much really for help but stuck as to what to do.

If all else fails do a system restore and set it back to a time your PC was working OK, you'll find it in "start" "control panel " "performance and maintenance" Right side panel "system restore"

You will not find the Power DVD programme in My Documents. Look in Windows/Programs. If it is not there it may be a time limited sample download which has expired. You will need to download a version that does not have a time limit. If you have a DVD/CD writer on your computer, there should be a program (Power DVD or similar) loaded with the driver when the drive was installed.

well you was right about the not making sense part but here it goes...

it seems like its a problem not with the dvd player but a problem with the software. you did not tell me if you was trying to play this in a pc. also some dvd's are different from others. if you burn your own dvd's or if you rent and copy them (witch is posible) they can be different and sometimes not work with sertin kinds of movies or dvd's

Sorry but i don't understand what has happened but try and download a codec pakage such as tsunami codec pakage just use the search engine. A codec is needed to compress and decode media files the mpeg2 codec may have been removed
