I have just qualified as a nurse and have just got a provisional offer for a job, subject to the outcome of my CRB form.

Roughly 2 years ago I was involved in an incident whereby I was thrown out of a nightclub and attacked by a nightclub bouncer. The bouncer phoned the police and accused me of attacking him. The matter went to court, and luckily, the CCTV footage was preserved and showed 6 counts of assault from the bouncer: throwing me down a flight of stairs, headbutts, and sitting on my chest. At magistrates court all the evidence was given and I was found innocent (The bouncer is still working in the same job... that's not my question, but I'm quite peeved about it still...)

Would this information show up on my CRB form? I hear there's a 'soft' section which the police fill out after the CRB do their initial check

It's really worrying me cos I've read other cases where people have been found innocent and it still shows on the CRB check

p.s.. sorry for the babble

The crazy thing is that, it's possible that it can. You just need to go to the county where it happened, and get the record yourself, to see what is on it. I was surprised when I saw mine. Once you have the record, when applying for the job, list and explain the situation. They should not hold this against you. They will however hold it against you if you lie about it. That has happened to me before too. Better safe than sorry.
ps. There is a such thing as an "arrest report". You were arrested, but found inocent. It would still be on your "arrest report". Again, better safe than sorry".

Any and all arrests are recorded along with disposition of the charges. Unless the company (or the person doing the hiring) leans to the far right and deeply frowns on drinking it should not count against you for the position. Most, if not all, applications as k if you have ever been "convicted" of a felony and you can answer no truthfully in regards to these charges. However, if the subject should come up at any time be honest about it. You do not have to go into in depth details but do not omit it if asked.

Good luck.

It very well might show up on your criminal history since it sounds as if you were probably arrested at the time (you did not state that). Since you were charged, most of the time it shows on the checks that we run - but may have a disposition of dismissed (or may not even have one). Best thing for you to do is to have your criminal history check done, and then if it shows up, hire a lawyer to petition the court to have it removed. Also you might check to see if they send any type of form to the local jail to see if you have a jail file. Jail files are public record in most states - so there is not much that you can do there other than have a good explaination of the events.

I'm not sure what country you are talking about, UK maybe? In the USA, unfortunately, a criminal background check will show up and it will show if you are the plaintiff or defendant. The reason that public records show your name even if your were not convicted of the charges is because a lot of folks plead out, accept a plea bargain and are never convicted even when they are guilty. Good luck. I would just be truthful in your case because it sounds like you were not at fault for the charges against you which would have been aggravated assault.

I have worked in the medical industry and the only thing that is against you is if you have abused anyone. If it happens to you it is not concidered by law.
