In Hindu belief where the term originated, it is the idea that the good and evil a person does will return either in this life or in a later one. Among Pagans, the theory is that whatever negative or positive energies one sends out will come back to the sender in like kind. The “Three Fold Law” is a version of this belief.
Karma is a sum of all that an individual has done, is currently doing and will do. Individuals go through certain processes and accompanying experiences throughout their lives which they have chosen, and those would be based on the results of their own creations: "karma". Karma is not about retribution, vengeance, punishment or reward. Karma simply deals with what is. The effects of all deeds actively create past, present and future experiences, thus making one responsible for one's own life, and the pain and joy it brings to others. In religions that incorporate reincarnation, karma extends through one's present life and all past and future lives as well.
Our choices and their consequences keep changing the reality we experience. Karma is just the consequences of old choices - old beliefs and old attitudes - which unconsciously create and re-create similar consequences, until we become conscious of them and choose to change them. In the ancient Sanskrit language "karma" meant "action". Karma is not a punishment but an opportunity to correct old mistakes and make our lives (and ourselves) better.

Karma is actually an action verb, and is the "balancing" of things, as that is the law of the universe. Our concept of "balance" may slightly differ relative to the universe's concept, but in Essenes, Karma is the evening out of all things when the proper time comes.

Karma is just a word for a very scientific premise...every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Every action we make sets off a series of actions, and the universal flow dictates that this chain of events is unending until an action of opposite flow can balance out the original action. There are many names for it.

In the most mundane sense, karma is the same thing as the saying goes "What goes around--comes around."...meaning that you'll "get back" from nature as you "give to" nature. People that do bad things will inevitably "get theirs" through karmic payback. Good acts will lead to a return of good karma to you.
Many see it as a force of nature that is our link to the spirit realm.

In Geeta, Lord Krishna said, i have sent u to earth to work, do work u will get result. If u do good work, u will get good result, if you do bad, u will get bad result. Even he says, whatever u are doing is u are not doing, i have directed to do it. So when ever u start any work, remember me befor start of work, even if u dobad work, bad effect of this work will be Mine and not yours. So have faith in Lord Krishna.
