The 'movie' companies don't put the commercials in, you can blame that on the theater chains.

Yes, you can sue them for it if you feel like wasting your time and probably a lot of money. The law suit would be considered frivolous and be tossed out before you could say 'massive legal bills'. The theaters have every right to show commercials or pretty much anything else they want before the movie. If you don't want the commercials wait for the DVD.

Here's the problem:

AMC/Regal are moving to pre-show advertisements in digital form. In the case of Regal (I was a projection manager for 4+ years) they show ALL commercials before the time designated for the movie to start. So, they're really just putting something on the screen before the film and not interferring with the show times. Same for AMC.

But, theatres that are years behind on the digital front will play film commercials before the film. As in, when the movie starts at 7:00pm, they hit start, but there's an additional 15 minutes of commercials.

You can't really sue, but you can complaing to their corporate offices (waste of time) and hope that something will be done. But, they make tens of millions of dollars a year doing this, so you'll just have to sit back and enjoy.

Here's a tip:
If you go to the same movie theatre that plays commercials on film at the time the movie is supposed to start, go into the theatre 10 minutes late. ALL commercial packs that they put on movies end with COKE commercials. So, you'll have a good timeframe.

In the case of AMC/Regal, you have no case against them. Sorry.

The best thing is to boycott the movie. However you can not sue the company for commercials.

If you live in America it is your inalienable right to sue anyone. Dont think much of your chances, particularly because the exhibitors put the ads there, not the movie companies.

You can sue for anything, but it would probably be a waste of time not to mention money. You could try things like petitions and boycotts. I agree with you that it's really annoying, though.

I do! plenty! this is why i like to come back early from time to time, its exciting watching the action picture previews and sit down around determining if u wanna see that action picture and the buzz of it :) I purely approximately DIED as quickly as I got here in and observed the Percy Jackson trailer, my soda purely approximately fell out of my hands. I stood there my eyes extensive nd Im like "Oh crap oh crap oh crap that's no longer occurring HOLY POSEIDON that's no longer occurring!" Thats because of the fact i admire the Percy Jackson books :)
