How are you asking the question?
Networking in the social sense is meeting people, and knowing people that can help you in life. I'm in college and our professors always tell us to start networking so we can get a job easier after school. I've noticed in Business especially networking is key! It's sad but true, who you know sometimes is better than what you know. Sad but true....
