My job has told me that my position ends at the ending of the year. However in the meantime I can keep my job but the kicker is they will not give me anything to do ALL DAY! Boring 8 1/2 hours.

Get paid to do nothing, or not get paid to do nothing. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

I have recently started reading a great book that could be really helpful to you...at least for your new job. It helps you learn how to not make the mistakes most of us make in our jobs;which often lead to being in the position you are in...by the way...I too have been told that I will be downsized in January. This book has really helped me understand why....I have no one to blame other than myself....I am actually beginning to look forward to the chance to start over and let go of the baggage with my current employer. Take the time you have now to get your search going...get that resume written, start net working, and seriously consider getting this book!

Good luck!
