The wall exchange into between East and west berlin, dividing the city desirable around the unique streets. in case you look at a map you will see why many people used the path into west berlin. there's a museum at Checkpoint Charlie that exhibits how people tried to flee.

Yeah boy, that wall did a lot of good didn't it? And what about the Great Wall of China? Or Hammurabi's Wall? The fact is that none of those walls kept people out (or in in the case of the Berlin Wall) because they could only be effective with massive numbers of personnel to guard them. The same theory applies to the Great Fence of Texas. It will be effective if it is patrolled by large numbers of border security personnel. If we had security in those kind of numbers we wouldn't need the fence in the first place.

There is not, and never was, a wall between East and West Germany.

The wall to which you apparently meant to refer was between East and West Berlin.

When the US builds a wall intended to keep US Citizens in, then you'll have a basis for comparison. Until then, you're out of luck.

You know you are so wise that I can't stand it.
Now if you really were so smart you might go back and learn your history lessons from a teacher that really did know history. That is something you did not get when in school it seems.

I agree it invokes the same thoughts, but they are two different situations. I say forget the wall and just put sharks in the river.
