I haven't had one but my mom did a couple of years ago when I was still living at home. She was in pain afterward, but it wasn't horrible. She didn't have her period for awhile afterward, but after several months, she started having a period again, but it wasn't nearly as heavy of a period.

I had it done, it did not really hurt, just feel like you have a burn in your uterus, i did still have some bleeding and the ablation did not work for me so I ended up with a hysterectomy, however i have friends that have had the ablation and they no longer get their periods or it is very light and only lasts a day or two. good luck, you will do fine

It depends on the person. There will be bleeding for approximately a month afterwards....just as if you had had a child.
There may be some cramping but should not be severe. They will tell you to take ibuprophen for the swelling and may prescribe some antibiotic. Ice packs and a heating pad work well for the cramping. Again, just like when you have a severe period or just had a child.

I had this in July and everyone that I have talked to haven't had a period since. My Dr. told me to give it 3 months for the heavy bleeding to stop. It did not work for me. I am now bleeding 16 days in a row. I have fibroids. I will be going for a hysterectomy after the first of the year. The receptionist in the Dr. office had it done and she hasn't had a period since. She said I just fell into the percentage where it didn't work! Lucky Me! It did not hurt me at all when I had it done.
