I've had similar problems in the past. generally found that A & E is not always the best place. Find out if your local hospital has an Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic (EPAC) - Many do and they are best equipped to help you.
Cannot say for sure that you've miscarried but obviously we all know that bleeding is not a good sign
I miscarried at about 6 weeks pregnant last year and it was very heavy with clots. I bled for about 2 weeks and it took 16 days before a pregnancy test read negative because the hormones took that long to leave my system.
I'm now 37 weeks pregnant and bled for the first 20 weeks of this pregnancy - sometimes so heavy I dashed to A & E thinking I was haemorrhaging. Fortunately everything has been ok and pregnancy has progressed unharmed.
I wish you much luck xx

You possibly could have miscarried, But if thats the case theres nothing your Dr could have done. I would wait until the scan on thursday. You either did or you didnt and honestly theres nothing that can be done. You just have to wait and see, im sorry if you lost it. But its natures way of ending a bad start. Meaning there could have been something wrong with the baby. Just wait and see but the could thing is you didnt have cramps. From what ive heard cramps are unbearable when you miscarry. So you still have a chance of having a healthy baby in your tummy.....Goodluck to you and i hope it all works out for you...
After reading everyone elses posts, i find it hard to believe that people run into the dr for everything. Keep in mind you are only 6 weeks pregnant and there is nothing a Dr can do to stop you from having a miscarry. Nothing at all can be done to stop it. These things happen all the time. Sometimes before people even know they are pregnant. And they never see a Dr. Im sure your scan on Thursday will tell one way or another. And if you did miscarry your body probably expelled it all or will expell it all means you were only 6 weeks. If more needs to be done im sure your Dr. will know what to do. People run into the dr for everything. Im sure most of these are first time moms. Im pregnant with number 5.....but if it makes you feel better and more at ease, then yes go in to the ER but skip the dr office visit. Just head right to the ER. Goodluck

I'm really sorry sweetie but i think you are miscarrying. I have had spotting on/off up until 12 weeks with my last 3 pregnancies but the spotting was brownish like old blood. Thankfully my pregnancies progressed well. All you can do now is wait which i'm sure is worse than knowing. The other alternitive is that you could collect one of the clots out of the toilet if it happens again and take it to your doctors to be sent away for pathology testing. That is 100% accurate and you will probably get the results the next day if they put a rush on the results. I wish you all the luck in the world.

umm go to the doc. to make sure everything is still ok , it is possible that you did miscarry but if no cramping then you might be just having 1st trimester bleeding. I have had 3 miscarriages and it hurts bad like EXTREMELY bad cramps and will sometimes make you sick to your stomach. I had 1 at 6 weeks, 1 at 11 weeks and 1 at 8 weeks. The further along you are the more they hurt. I would not panic and go to your doc. or the ER

SOunds like a possible miscarriage or an impending. THis is a tender time. you have to take it easy don't lift anything heavy. Usually it is a case of any bleeding through pregnancy is bad Unless you are about to go into labour. WHich you are not.
REmember to avoid the stuff pregnant women shouldn't have Drugs alcohol cigarettes caffine and believe it or not too much of the main ingredient that is in tylenol can cause an early misscarrige. I forget what that pain killer is called.

Call the doc office and talk to the nurse and she will more than likely get you an appointment today if you are very concerned. Which I would be, I bleed like this with my first pregnancy and if I had been more presistant they could have saved my baby but my doc was an a** so I switched and then new ine told me that there could ahve been apossiblity of saving my baby. GO TO THE DOC TODAY!!!

Im so sorry chick,
I hope you havent lost it but but the heavy bleeding normally only means one thing.
dont loose hope yet though, a friend of mine bled an awful lot when she was pregnant and her baby was fine, I cant believe your doctor won't get you in for a scan any earlier, if i was you i would go straight to casualty and tell them your having cramps they will see you straight away and get you scanned.
Or you could always re do your pregnancy test,
But go to casualty that is your best option
Good luck I am thinking of you.xx

You must be so worried. I hope for the best for you.
Either go back to the doctors, or go to A&E or phone the NHS helpline. Get more medical advice.
You could perhaps do a home pregnancy test, to find out quicker if all the professionals tell you to wait for your scan.

Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit in the hospital is where you need to go. They can do an internal scan if they can't pick the baby up on the belly ultrasound.
Hope it is good news, but really don't want to get your hopes high...

I would most definitely go to your doctor, or even the hospital to find out for sure.
Sometimes, women can have what is called "implantation bleeding" but I don't think it's quite so heavy or clotty.
Best of luck sweetie!
