Unfortunately, I think men are more attracted to skinny women. However, this attraction may only last for a short time, because I think it is true the personality will either make or break it. It is the initial hurdle that is difficult to get over. I think it is important to be confident and secure with yourself, and this will shine through. Additionally, there are some guys that do like a more plus-sized woman. Good luck.

I am also a plus-sized female. I'm not saying that looks don't matter, but they aren't the most important thing. Personality should still be and is a major thing with me. I am an active person, going to college on a mountain, being involved with marching band, taking the stairs when I can, etc. I am still viewed with a poor attitude when I try to better myself, but it generally isn't by guys. It is by skinny, curveless girls who think that they are hot s**t. I have an hourglass figure and am 5'10", but I've only had 2 guys show any interest, one being my boyfriend. I think I am just meant to be bigger because the more active I've become, the more muscle I've gained and fat I've lost, obviously, but my weight hasn't changed, although my size has.
I do believe there are guys out there who like bigger girls, but I haven't found one in the south yet. I have a lot of male friends and I think that guys are not embarassed to be good friends with a plus-sized girl, but dating one is a different story. How sad that our society promotes unhealthy eating habits and ways to "control" your body, instead of accepting people for who they are and promoting good lifestyle practices and eating habits.
I also agree about finding someone who is after your heart, not your body. It is sad how some guys in our society will choose a skinny, ugly girl, and i mean ugly by personality, over a bigger, pretty, loving girl, just because the first girl is smaller.

You know what, I also am a plus-sized girl. And when I realized that all the guys that think not being skinny is a joke, I realized they were only for the body of skinny women, not their hearts. So they would not be for me. Dating was meant to be something that one would do to get to know someone to see if you would want to get married. That standard has certainly gone down in America. So now I only date men who are after my heart, not my body.
Good luck!

Im not a guy so I guess you might not want to hear my answer, but I think that women that have a little extra can be very attractive. Some women carry extra weight OK and others dont. Especially if it is overly excessive (ie cant get around without a power chair). However, I prefer women who are "curvy" to ones who are skinny or too skinny, its just what im attracted to.

I think it has more to do with how you view yourself. I have never been smaller than a size 18 and I was usually the belle of the ball. I have had plenty of attention from a variety of men, including well-known actors, one Mr. Olympia, a famous boxer, and normal, nice guys, too. This is the truth.
I remember going out with a group of girls (all of whom were small and worried about gaining any weight.) While I was dancing and socializing and getting plenty of male attention, the other girls were sitting there seething. I thought to myself that if they didn't look so mean, they would be asked to dance, too.
I believe a friendly smile and a pleasant personality goes a lot farther than being size 3.

It's sad but this is what society deems as acceptable. Look at the bulk of your answers here, most men who answered are attracted to thinner women. One common misconception is that people who are big are not healthy which is not true. A person could have more pounds than your average size 6 woman, but if that size 6 eats McDonald's everyday while you're eating your fruits and veggies, who's more healthy?
Just like there are men who like smaller women, there are men who appreciate thicker women just as well. And believe me they are not hard to find.

it all depends on the person. I'm plus-size, and my husband is i'd say average for a man. And it never bothered him. Personality is not the first thing that the good men look for anymore, it's not what anyone looks for at first, but if you find a decent guy it wont matter anyways.
