Well, No Leaf Clover is Metallica´s last Masterpiece ´till date, I suppose!
Actually, the song´s subject matter is about a pessimistic guy who´s always getting into a bad luck!
The title is obvious too!
4 Leaf clover is supposed to be a sign of good fortune,
now a ´´No leaf clover´´ brings bad fortune of course!
And this line you mentioned means:
