The Miami Heat didn't want to pay his hefty $2.5 million salary and were seeking to trade him, when Anderson spoke up about wanting more playing time.

They ended up offering him a $600,000 buyout so that he could try and sign elsewhere. He accepted the buyout offer from Miami, but when no NBA teams jumped up to sign him, he headed overseas to sign with a team there. It's not clear what team he is actually playing for now.

Derek Anderson is not in the NBA so far this year. I liked him a lot in college, and even a little in the pros. He has been a constant underachiever in the league. He is injury prone, and, right where he belongs, AT HOME. Actually, he worked out overseas for one of the more high profiled teams. He'll more than likely get a "cup of coffee" in the league this year at some point.
