Simply the washing on its own does not get rid of the stain of perspiration and rubbed off antiperspirant. Anyone tried anything? It is a shame to bin a shirt simply because it went a bit white and crusty under the arm.

Pour a small amount of vinegar onto the stains and then GENTLY scrub. If you scrub too hard you may damage the fabric. Then allow to sit 30 to 60 minutes then wash as usual. You may need to repeat for very yellow stains, or stains that have set for a while.

If you face this problem frequently, check your deodorant. Many of the clear deodorants seem to result in sweat stains being more yellow than usual.

Perspiration is and acid substance. If it is a coloured shirt it is possible that the acid has removed some of the dye stuff in which case it is "colour out" not a stain and no amount of washing with remove it.

First of all, what color is the shirt? What Fabric? If it is cotton or white do not bleach it! It counteracts with the sweat. Use AWESOME, it is a cheap cleaner you can get from the local dollar tree store. Spray it on, kind of rub it, then wash it like normal.

I think I remember reading somewhere that ordinary vinegar will so the trick. Make sure you use white vinegar as the brown might make a bigger stain.

Use 'Soft & Gentle' or 'Dove' deodorant in the future and also add a scoop of 'Biotex' to every white wash you do.
