Vampire bats are certainly real but they tend to feed on the blood of cattle rather than the blood of virgins - they're just a type of bat and have no supernatural powers or evil intent towards humans. Werewolves do not exist at all, apart from in creepy stories, however, there is a psychological condition known as "Lycanthropy" - "a delusion in which a person believes that he is a wolf". Sleep well.

They ARE real. I'm telling you.

Only last night I saw one take down Santa Claus, plus 9 of his 12 elves. The tooth fairy only escaped by the skin of several milk teeth.

Boy, are werewolves evil. And mean too. Ugly as hell.

Vampires are the same, only tend to leave the tooth fairy alone. Something to do with those long sharp teeth in the front.

You better believe they are real.

As with all mythical creatures, they are never as portrayed on horrow films.

Vampires are based on old myths of blood sucking creatures from the middle ages, there was also a desease in the Eastern European countries, where some people were affraid of light and only went out at night. These were lumped in with the whole myth. I do know that there are indeed psychic vampires who drain people of energy, they are in fact real, I have met at least one.

Werewolves hark back to an even older shamanistic ritual of becoming as an animal, not turning into an animal. If they do turn into animals, then they do it in another way, not visual.

So all in all yes, but not as you know them.

VAMPIRES:
It seems that until the 19th century, vampires in Europe were thought to be hideous monsters from the grave. They were usually believed to rise from the bodies of suicide victims, criminals, or evil sorcerers, though in some cases an initial vampire thus "born of sin" could pass his vampirism onto his innocent victims. In other cases, however, a victim of a cruel, untimely, or violent death was susceptible to becoming a vampire. Most of Romanian vampire folk beliefs (except Strigoi) and European vampire stories have Slavic origins.
WEREWOLVES:
The name most likely derives from Old English wer (or were) and wulf. The first part, wer, translates as "man" (in the sense of male human, not the race of humanity). It has cognates in several Germanic languages including Gothic wair, Old High German wer and Old Norse var, as well as in other Indo-European languages, such as Latin vir, Lithuanian vyras and Welsh gŵr, which have the same meaning. The second half, wulf, is the ancestor of modern English "wolf"; in some cases it also had the general meaning "beast". An alternative etymology derives the first part from Old English weri (to wear); the full form in this case would be glossed as wearer of wolf skin. Related to this interpretation is Old Norse ulfhednar, which denoted lupine equivalents of the bearlike berserkr who were said to wear a wolf skin into battle.

Well I know that there are some people who believe that they are. Some even go so far as to have the dentist extend their front teeth into fangs. There is also a psychological term called lycanthropy where people believe that they can actually turn into werewolves. I just don't want to come across one that is real.

if you live in the real world, then yes oh yes, they are real. but in conventional society, people say the do not exist, but when u enter the real world u will find them, and the mythological potions and theories that were used to kill them in folklore work in the real world too. Werewolves are the worst, they hypnotise u with their eyes, so when the witching hour comes u are there ready to be taken, not hunting required. they have also evolved, vampires weave magic spells and draw u into their world, eliminating the need to hunt and feed. when they wake, u are there. in answer to the rest, no, i don't know, and i believe they are, but i cannot blame them 4 being who they are, just blame them for not evolving their minds.

Vampirism is real, some animals only have the ability to digest blood and need the nutrients from blood to survive... as for humans, they are just nut jobs who watch to many movies.

Hypertrichosis is a condtion where humans grow excess body hair and in some cases look like what the typical werewolf from mythological pictures look like.

Sorry, but most of the answers here are wrong. Werewolves do not exist but there are vampire bats (not in UK) - mostly fairly harmless and feed on domestic and wild animals. Certainly not of the fearsome fairy story sort of kind. Use the web for more info

Well...lycanthropy is a real affliction (you get hairy all over and can have brief seizures or bouts of lunacy) but this is usually a life-long genetic disorder, not some affliction that crops up whenever there's a full moon. As for vampirism, a number of people have gone to prison for murdering people and drinking their blood, and some of these have claimed to be vampires...but they weren't reduced to ashes in sunlight. It's possible that through deals with the devil or employing some form of infernal magic you might extend your life beyond its natural capacity... but you'd have to ask the witches and sorcerers of the net about that.

They are not real. There are people that try to live the vampire lifestyle (including drinking blood) but they are just crazy humans. So no, do not exist. Never did.
