My family income is well over the 6 figures but I drive a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic. It was a birthday gift from husband 2 days after my Mom died. It would be cheaper to buy a new car, but I would never give up my Jeep.
Sentimental reasons, & my husband says why pay for a big car payment when they all get you where you want to go. We use saved money to travel. Came back from NY last week & off to Knoxville TN today. In January, we are off to Reno. Our cars run great & look fine - so we are happy.

I drive my 1986 Honda Civic DX because I bought it new and it has become a part of me. I love it. So I want to keep it running. I could get a new car but I don't like any of the new cars.

I've had two old Minis in my time. i loved them because they were cheap to run, AND I could fix most of the stuff myself with a Haynes manual. A lot of cars these days have computerised wizardry in them that only the garage can fix, thus charging you a fortune in the process.
