Is it ok that we call a man a racists just because he was trying to hurt someone with words. As I watch the tape of the tongue lashing I thought he was not in the wrong . The black men where calling him a CRACKER! Which to me is the equivalent of ****** to a white person. And michael is the only one being blamed here. These gentlmen started this and no one is calling them racists, is this right? why do we cater to african americans today, scared we will hurt their feelings if we say something wrong? THere is not a black person alive today that was a slave and all races have been slaves , whites have been slaves also. just a question , not a political statement.

He was out of line, and I think that in the moment all he wanted to do is hurt them back.

It is true what you are saying, no one ever looks at the person who is creating the issues. Why didn't someone throw the people heckling out of the show. It's easy to blame Richards because he is a celebrity. I guess "cracker" is an OK term for white people and nothing is acceptable for blacks. You are right when you say there hasn't been slavery in how many years and whites don't owe anybody anything. We talk about equality in America but it is never equal, someone can always do something someone else can't because of race, color or religious affiliation.

You make a good point. The face of racism is ugly no matter who wears it, and those men were just as bad as Richards for replying the way they did (even though Richards clearly played the race card first.) But those men aren't famous and no one knows who they are or cares, so they aren't gonna be the subject of any news story.

And I watched the clip of the act and he didn't just say the word real quick after he lost it. He went on a full blown racist rant that could not have come from someone that didn't hold those kinds of beliefs. "Fifty years ago, we'd have you upside down with a fork up your asses"? He was refering to actual lynchings. I'm not buying that he just got a little upset. Even being drunk wouldn't have made me think that it was just anger and boose speaking. It was like opening a closet and having all kinds of things spill out. Sure, those guys opened the closet, but those words would not have spilled out if they weren't in there.

He owned the stage for the time he was on it. If they don't like it they can leave or simply refuse to buy another ticket.
Don't make such an issue....you are totally right...blacks are catered to. I had no complaint when I saw the commercial asking for donations to a united ***** college fund. or, the black miss america pageant. all races have murderers, thieves and rapists. put energy into stamping them out, not the entertainment industry.

It is starting to come out that Kramer was heckled for over ten minutes. One of the things that was said to him was, "you aint funny **** a" then when kramer replied with a witty retort the heckler replied with "You don't know me **** a, Don't fuc k with this **** a".

It also is being reported that the black guys who were calling kramer **** a and threatening him were also threatening the people who opened up the show for Richards..

Real innocent victims...? Seems like two punks who should've been bounced out before Richards ever hit the stage..

No he is not racist. He is not known for shooting minorities or trying to deny them anything.

He was very upset at the 100% rude and unacceptable behavior of the 2 dooshbags in the audience and unleased the very worst he could think of in an attempt to hurt them personally not because of their race.

HOWEVER, he should have been professional enough to ignore them or make fun of them in another way and he was way out of line.

He is not racist but he was flat out wrong.

He lost control, I don't believe he hates all Black people just those like the ones that were messing with him.
I don't hate all black people but there are some as there are white people that keep a feud going spewing hate.

Who cares what color the black guy was or what he said Michael Richards stepped out of his shell and reveled his true self. Not to say it’s something bad but I think he really wanted to keep it to himself. His words are going to haunt him. But you can’t punish the guy forever.
