Propecia (finasteride) is the only FDA-approved treatment for male hair loss. It can be used in the treatment of two hair loss patterns: on the top of the head and on the anterior mid-scalp area.

Results of Propecia use vary, but for most men, it increases the number of hairs in the first 12 months of treatment and helps create thicker hair in the balding areas. Results may be visible in as little as 3 months. In addition, it may help slow hair loss.

I guess this is a whatever. It's probably a revolutionary treatment for hair strengthening and correcting or stopping hair loss as I've yet to hear of anyone else who has used it. BUT IT REALLY WORKS.
Father, two siblings and some of their offspring have lost all or almost all hair - so heredity factors do not matter.I had many hair problems when I was younger because I was extremely sensitive to all the chemicals and additives in commercial shampoos. My scalp would flake tremendously (I thought it was dandruff) and my hair looked thin, bad and lifeless. So I stopped using harsh shampoos - a shampoo which is kind and beneficial is tea tree oil (Tesco sells it under its brand). The results were immediate. I stopped the daily shampooing - over washing is really bad for the hair and it is acknowledged as one of the reasons for premature graying and hair loss. My hair had started to recede quite badly at the temples and a bald patch was developing on the crown. I had read that one way to restore growth was to use a scalp irritant like pepper so I started a routine of quite vigorous nightly brushing with a natural pure oil (organic is good) particularly focusing on the receding areas and crown. (Vigorous enough for it to irritate the scalp to a degree). The hair DID NOT come out but the loss stopped and it only became stronger and hair noticeably started growing again. I used a small stiff bristled hair brush (held in the palm), left oil on overnight (protected pillow with an old sheet) and washed off in the morning. Over a few weeks only the hair started growing thicker and developed a healthy sheen. I kept up the treatment and growth was restored in loss areas over a period of time. So now my hair grows strongly and I have a full head of healthy hair. I had not seen my siblings for many years and they clearly believed I had had some sort of transplant. I can be emailed.

Baldness is genetically determined, and I do know a couple of people who started to go bald extremely early in life, one of them being only 17 when he started to lose his hair. I don't think strengthening the hair is possible once it has grown out of the scalp, since it is nonliving protein matter at that time; any modification of the hair would have to be on the systemic biochemical level, before it emerges from the follicle. About the only thing I know of that would help are hair transplants, a totally cosmetic procedure that wouldn't address the underlying problem but would help aesthetically.

P.S. One thing that does affect hair growth is weight extremity or glandular extremity. Extremely thin or obese people often have abnormal hair growth, or lack thereof.

You know what? Shave it off. I'm serious. Lots of guys do and it looks very very cool. Don't let it worry you - it happens to lots of men. A lot of women, like me for example, think it is very sexy - especially with sunglasses.

There are shampoos out there that claim to stop hair loss or to strengthen hair, but I'm not sure if they really work. They may just be selling to desperate people who want to believe that they work. Call a beauty supply store (Sally's) and see what they tell you.

Good luck and don't worry, I'm sure you are a fine-looking guy.

all herbal shampoos are good and i will suggest don't use conditioner as it can be the cause of hair fall. Hair transplant is also the way that you can implement to avoid baldness,
