Put the tie around your neck. Line it up so the wide side is longer than the skinny side. I'm a lefty so I always put the wide side of the tie on the left side of my body.

Cross the wide side over the skinny side making a V. Cross the wide side under the skinny side to the center of the V. Bring the wide side up to the top of the V and pass it under the part that crossed the skinny side and pull it through snugly.

Now grasp the skinny side and slide the knot to your neck til it covers the top button of you shirt.

The military use a knot called "fore in hand", simply put tie around your neck, with the wide end on your left side, divide the tie about one third wide, two thirds narrow, throw the wide end over the other end, wrap it around it and bring the wide end through the loop, pull to tighten and adjust fit. That's it.

Check out menswearhouse.com. They have a great section with step by step directions on tying several different tie knots. It's easy. I forget myself sometimes and always go back there to refresh my memory. Good Luck! And remember...plain tie with striped shirts, patterned tie with solid colors.

I guess by 'Tie' you mean 'Neck Tie'. That you have to extend/move that around your neck and put a knot and tighten the knot and that's all.
