i am not sure. but i think that what makes baby at risk, is what goes through you blood stream.

Girl, I used to use products from Serious Skin Care. Some of their products contain salicylic acid in them. I was developing pregnancy mask on my face and thought that using the products would help my face. I've always had good skin and the products used to agree with my skin. But I found by using the products, it made my mask worse! So I stopped using the that facial line and tried Aloette because it's more natural (It contains a lot of aloe). It cleared up all of the pregnancy mask and I have no scars left over from it. I'm sure the salicylic acid will not harm the baby. I just hope that with the hormone changes that our bodies go through when we're pregnant, that you are getting the benefits you want from a salicylic acid based product line. Good luck with your pregnancy (it's almost over!).

Skin care products are absorbed into the blood stream. So are chemicals you put in your hair like hair color and perms. To be safe you should ask your obstetrician or a pharmacist. All drugs are classified into pregnancy risk categories. Your OB or Rx can tell you if the specific products you use are safe during pregancy.
Don't wait to find out. The baby is at the greatest risk in the first trimester.
