if i go into my phone carrier store (cingular) and asked them to unlock my phone so i can use it, will they? or is there some other place i can do that??

I think they should because your bringing the phone to them, you might want to bring your phone bill with you because they may think you found the phone or something. If that does not work call Cingular they should be able to help. Be warned, this happened to my friend and he was on the phone with the company for a while(1 hour).

yes you take it cingular and they should be able to restore it they are pretty good at fixing on site. Have you tried to take out the battery and put it back in . Are you able to make calls with it if you are try to dial 611 and then the directory will tell you what you need to do.

Tmobile will unlock your phone. Other carriers will not. You can do a google search and try to find an unlock solution there for your particular model.
