Hi K! I love decorating my Christmas tree. I know it seems like for a 15 year old, its a little TOO old to be decorating, but it's actually really nice. My mom usually stays upstairs while my little brother and my dad decorate it. Then, we turn off all the lights, turn on the Christmas tree lights and surprise my mom when we tell her to come down!

I make a deal about it for the kid's sake, but after they go to bed iI 'fix' it. You know, 20 ornaments on the bottom left side and almost none anywhere else doen't look so good. I love decorating the tree, but never quite get that Norman Rockwell feeling about it.

Most of the time,i am left to put it up.I enjoy it,and i take my time,i dont care who comes or who goes. You only get one chance a year to put up a Christmas tree.I would rather enjoy it,as opposed to putting it up and not enjoying it.If you put it up and embrace the moment you remember each Christmas, and from one year to the next what you did with the tree the year before.I guess,I am in between, the whole special ritual with the family or throwing it up in a rush.I do it myself, but i dont rush through it.I also enjoy some Christmas tunes while im putting up the tree as well.Have a good day sweetie.

Well personally I like the thought of doing it on a cosy, Sunday afternoon with a cup of tea, the boyf down the pub so I can let my imagination go wild, ahhh - but alas I end up getting harassed because the tinsel keeps falling off, the bauble things are more one side then the other and I've almost eaten all the choc decs. I think it should be a joint/family effort !

The whole family helps decorate, I decorated it one year while my daughter was at school, you'd have thought I pushed her in the face and kicked her, she was very upset, so we un-decorated it and started over with her (except the lights)....It looked pretty much the same, except her ornaments were in the front (I have an ornament for every year of her life that is hers, she is 18).....

Since it's just my son & me, we usually make decorating the tree a whole day event. We'll get up, go to McDonald's for breakfast and come home. He usually plays while I bring the tree up from the basement, and we put it together, decorate it (as we have the Christmas tunes BLASTING), order pizza for lunch, (a day off from cooking for me..whoo hoo), then decorate the whole apartment and the hallway. It takes a whole day and the time together just makes us closer.

I do all the work, but I do not sling it up. I love to decorate my tree and I do not trust the rest of my family to do it right. I have all men in my family so they do not care anyway.

I decorate it myself. I put some of my favorite Christmas music on and go to it. Then, the ingrates I live with (and mostly love) come home and say, "nice tree, mom. What are you getting me for Christmas?"
Hummm. I wonder if a tree will fit...... Just a thought.

i have my own place for the first time, and it's not big enough for a tree...but when i do finally have one, i think i would rather put it up myself, or with help from my fiance.
however, every year my brother and his wife have a tree trimming party. they invite all their friends over to decorate the house and the tree, with christmas music playing and everyone drinking eggnog and stuff. it's kinda fun. but they are the kind of people who LOVE to entertain guests. me? i don't mind spending my time at home alone with my fiance.
it just depends on you.
