No, Jesse, i've been here a while, but I tend to usually answer and seldom ask.
Some great answers. I'll also list biltong,bobotie, snoek, fruity chutney and a nice waterblommetjie stew with mutton(being a WP boy), some lekka beskuit, a well made potbread, home cooked apricot jam, wildspastei, ... and that great South African product Pronutro.

My favorite SA savory dish is bobotie (minced beef prepared in a mild curry with a combination of spices and fruit, served on rice)
My favorite sweet is koeksisters (basically donuts soaked in syrup) and melktert (like the Italian Vanilla Natta, creamy vanilla custard type filling on a biscuit base)
My favorite overall snack is biltong (dry, cured and spiced strips of fillet)
Hmmm, delicious food, makes me miss home.

Biltong biltong biltong! Ok, and droewors, miliepap and boerewors for sure! I like the traditional white mielies and my favourite fruit would have to be a naartjie! :) I love my meat, so the braai would definitely come into my answer!

There is something other than a braai. Biltong, Mielie pap. South Africa must have the best candy. Best steak. Best Lamb chops. Koeksisters. Pannekoek.
