She is going to be 47 in Jan. but still acts like she's 20 lol.. I want to get something that shows how grateful I am for all her help and advice and yet something that is kinda hip and not "old Lady" or too sentimental. Anyone have any ideas?

How about one of those wine baskets or chocolate gift baskets? They usually look pretty awesome....or take her out to dinner somewhere fancy.

You still have a little time before her birthday, so try to pay attention and see if there's anything she wants but thinks is too frivolous (or whatever) to buy for herself - and then buy it for her! Those are the best kind of gifts to give.

I did this very thing for a friend's birthday this past July. With three kids (two of them under the age of 2) at home, she doesn't have a lot of extra $$$ for fun stuff for herself. I sent her a gift certificate for a massage at a highly-regarded spa near her home. The gift moved her to tears.

I totally like the matching tattoos idea. How fun would that be? Maybe you can design something that symbolizes your relationship or something that is important to both of you. The design part would be more of the gift than the actual tattoo.

Book her in for a facial or a manicure. There's nothing a woman likes more than being pampered and it's a lovely gift to get someone who's hard to buy for.

well I was gonna say making her a poem so that she can hang it up and be reminded of you when she sees it, but you do not want sentimental, so why not give her money to do with what she wants with it, find a great card that says how you feel about her and put the money in there instead.

Send her a pajama-gram. (pajamagram.com) Or look into the vermont teddybear company, they customize and ship bears, and you might find one related to a hobby she has.

A gift card is always nice, that way she can buy whatever she wants. :)

Depending on how she feels about them, maybe you could go get matching tattoos.
