In addition to what Jerry said above about the balancer and intake (it's illegal to swap in an older model year engine in CA and many other states), you will need to use an oil pan from a pre '87 motor - you cannot use the '88 oil pan, the flanges (over the main seals) are different

Yes you can. Physically on the outside the are pretty much the same. Make sure you use the flexplate from the 305. The one from the 350 is for a 1 piece rear main seal and will not work on the 305. If you have to go through I/M test be sure to install the emissions and intake system from the 350. The intake manifolds are not interchangeable due to the difference in bolt angle.

You may have to modify the intake at the heat crossover for proper bolt angle, (tbi truck-ditch the carb), and leave the 305 dampener and flywheel on and double check that the 88 torque converter has the same bolt pattern as the 305 eng.

Yes. Just swap over your T.B.I. intake and you're ready to go (elongate the center holes). They have the same exterior dimensions and your computer will not have any problems at all either! They have the exact same harmonic balancer, the same flexplate to converter bolt pattern etc... Bolt it in and go!

In most states it is illegal to install an engine older than the car you are installing it into, due to emission laws
