I understand that Amsterdam, Holland has a large network of free public urinals for men - but very few public toilets for women. Isn't that unfair to women? And discriminatory?

The one and only reason why Amsterdam came up with the free urinals for men, is that men are pigs and pee just anywhere. It made the entire city a smelly place (bad image for tourism and official visitors).

Women usually have the decency to go find a toilet, or they went to the toilet before leaving the pub/restaurant/cinema. And yes, many of us females bring "plastuits" to a festival or on a day to the big city. Or we squat in one of those urinoirs (I do).

Liz is right. In European countries like Holland it is acceptable for women to use the public urinals. So in fact it is not discriminatory at all - rather the exact opposite.
The devices are basically small funnels that allow this to work.

Women are free to use the public urinals. For those that would like help, the Etos sells disposable funnels called "plastuits" that allow women to pee standing up.
