Traditionally they start on Boxing Day and run through to the end of January, but retail has been suffering in London for some time. People who usually come up from out of London to shop before christmas don't do so so much anymore, in light of the terror attacks so you find that a lot of stores start their sales in early December to encourage those who are shopping to buy more.

Thanksgiving nighttime, as quickly as all the eating is over and performed with, the flicks watched, and the travellers have long gone homestead. The Christmas season formally starts for me then. God bless you.

Newsflash to you...it happens everywhere, not just London. I guess it's to encourage you to haul your *** out of the house and spend spend spend, even though you've just skint yourself by doing just that all of the previous month.
Except this time - it's cheaper. See how they did that? How clever they are hehehe
