what small lies do you often tell?

for many reasons we have to lie... what are these harmless lies that you tell?

My reasons for not doing something someone else wants me to do. If a person wants me to go somewhere and attend an event in which I have no interest, and they clearly consider it important, I will often say I have something else I have to do at that time. It avoids telling them that I do not share their opinion about how good it would be. This is especially true if they want me to buy something or spend money on something. I try not to be rude, and so I employ what is known as "the little white lie." Even something as non-committal as "I'll think about it," when I don't expect I will, is technically a lie.

There's no point to being a slave to telling the truth. Learn how to avoid questions, or to answer in an indirect way, and you will seldom have to lie. But sometimes people will press for an answer when you do not want to give it, nor do you want to engage in a debate over why you do not choose to answer. A convenient lie is therefore necessitated by the pushy person's own approach.

I don't know how harmless they r when the bible says a lie is a lie small or big they have the same outcome, hurt or pain. I do often lie about how well I am. People often ask, "How r u?" I respond, "Fine." Even when I'm not. Sometimes I want to burst out and overload the asker with my burdens but often I think how insignificant their question really was. I'm not used to sincerity from others and don't know how to handle it. So I keep on lying.

I don't lie, not even small lies I cannot understand why people do that. I have never wanted to make myself to be something I am not. I may be alot of things but I will never have to worry about being caught in any lies and even though I wish for more I can accept what I have or don't have and not have to lie about it. and I am not ashamed . also if you have a freind and you cannot be honest with them and tell them they look like ajerk in something or have a booger hanging from their nose, how can you call yourself a friend?

I am not much of a phone talker .. yeah go figure . I' m a girl and I don't like talking on the phone.. hehehhe That is strange
So I will sometimes lie if someone else in the house answers the phone and tell them to say, that I am not here or I am in the shower...

I live far from my family and I don't want them to worry, so I lie about my health, happiness, or work - I make everything sound happy shiny. I guess they do the same.

By me saying "Yeah" I'm lying to the other person. I know they really don't want me to spill my life story as to why I'm really not 'okay.' ... so i tell a small lie.

I tell people I'm good/fine/okay when I'm not....I also tell people I have plans when I don't just to have some quiet time for myself....If I told them I'm just chilling at home, my door bell would be ringing....
