Yes why not straight people can get married so why not, If 2 people love each other then does it matter if their straight or gay?
For people who don't agree with it does it really make a different to you? You only live once make the most of it.
And to the people who say this question has been asked a million times, maybe people dont spend all day on the comp and haven't had a chance to answer it b4, some people have lives other than sitting on yahoo answers.

At present of course, gays and lesbians are not allowed to be married. They can however enter into a Civil Partnership which is what I did with my partner to show that we are committed to each other and love each other. So the answer is 'yes' gays should be allowed to marry in the same way as heterosexuals. It is the church which has stopped it but what's new - they have only just allowed women to be ordained. Perhaps in another 100 years they may reach the 21st Century.

If I went outside today I (as an adult man and a legal citizen) could if I so chose marry a woman I hated. We would hate each other and get legally married.
I could not as the same person go out find a man I was madly in love with and make the same legal commitment to him, the law does not allow it.
I could legally marry a woman I hate but not a man I love.
I think that gay marriage should be legal. Otherwise what's the point at all.

Marriage is a religious service so it is up to each faith to decide. Civil partnerships are now legal in the UK which seems fair enough to me. As the election of a gay bishop has caused so much trouble there may be some way to go before same sex marriages are accepted within even christian faiths (if ever!).

Marriage should be between the individuals involved. The government has no business sticking it's nose into that.
So yes, HELL YES!
Just for anyone's curiosity, I've been in a heterosexually married for 27 years.

Should gay's what be allowed to marry? The apostrophe indicates something belonging to gay. Is gay a person? If she is then 'gay' should be capitalized, ie Gay. So, are you talking about a relative of Gay, her daughter or ex husband maybe?

Absolutely!!! Marriage was a civil union from the beginning. The Church did not approve of marriage for many years. Marriage is a civil union and that is why you have to get a marriage license.
Everyone should have equal rights to get married.
A comedian said homosexuals cannot do anything to tarnish marriage that heterosexuals have not already done. There is no reason to prevent gay marriage and it has no effect on heterosexual marriage.
My wife and I both support gay marriage.
Take care,
Troy

Without a doubt! What I find harder to believe is a "progressive and civilized" nation that would so openly discriminate against the gay community... and deny them such a basic and essential right!

Yes, why not. They are two people in love just like a woman and a man. They have just as much right to being married as any other person have.

Of Course they should, the love between same sex couples is just the same as a straight couple. It is about comittment to each other which can again be just the same for both sets of people.
