Something musical, fun and funny (to a 5-year old girl in kindergarten) would be great, but I'm up for anything as we prepare for a long Thanksgiving road trip. If it's somewhat entertaining to adults (or at least not totally irritating), that would be extra special! Thanks.

Well, maybe it's just my kid, but I think sometimes we underestimate children's musical tastes. My kid is 4 and though she jams out to the Wiggles with the best of them, her favorite music is my first husband's drum-n-bass collection (he's a DnB deejay). She also cannot get enough of my Bad Religion and knows most of the lyrics to American Jesus. Maybe you could test out some adult music with enough rhythm and spunk to keep her interested... you might be surprised!

This is also advantageous because by exposing her to quality music from an early age, she develops an ear for music and is less likely to listen to emo later on. ;-)

Recommended bands (low on curse words; high on musical enjoyability and fun):

Rolling Stones
Primus
The Smiths
Sonic Youth
Crystal Method
Red Hot Chili Peppers

Thumbs down? Did I anger some emo kids? lol

My 6 and 3 twelve months old precise now are all into young ones Bop, Johnny money infants album, and Laurie Betner. Plus verify the dollar shop they have music and books on CD's much cheap. If its a real long trip it extremely is extremely helpful to to invest in a private CD participant. Ours got here from Wal-Mart $5.88 happy thank you giving and that i'm hoping your travels are risk-free.

you could do and disney soundtrack...maybe from a movie she likes I wouldn't do anything like the wiggles cuz they get so annoying for the adults. I'd stick with any music from disney movies...its getting close to Christmas too so you could mix it up and play a few x-mas songs...have fun on your trip!

They Might Be Giants did a great children's album called "NO!" Songs are like 1.5 to 2.5 minutes long, and they are so clever that adults like it too. Check it out!
