The structure will be made of dichroic glass walls that curve outwards. The base will be stone, probably granite. Inside there will be a circular curtain of acrylic prisms from ceiling to floor and a rill of water encircling that. The roof will be domed. I want the structure to have the least obtrusive amount of fixings and maximum amount of glass.

If you have this much money to construct a project like this, and you haven't got any ideas on how to start, your in trouble. I would get someone out and see what it would cost to have them do the work.
Another idea is to go to Home Depot or Lowes and see what kind of ideas they have, they also have many magazines of "how to" books. Good luck

You are going to support the dome root on the glass wall? How large are the glass pieces? What ever they are set in will also have to support the dome. You are talking serious load--horizontal and vertical...for the walls as well as the dome.

Plus what will support the prisms. Superman had his crystal palace, we don't have the luxury of alien technology.

You need engineering help in determining load, shear, etc. At least the granite makes sense as it will probably be thin sheets over block........granite blocks are mega expensive .....and you would already be talking to an architect and engineer.
